Sean has now graduated from Weber High School!! I feel much gratitude and appreciation for all of the many blessings and wonderful people in Sean's life. It has been a week of tender feelings and happy tears as I have reflected upon Sean's life and experiences thus far. Sean has made good decisions and choices and has a wonderful support system of family and friends. A few highlights that I will always keep close to my heart as I reflect upon this week are in chronological order as follows.
1. Sean singing a solo at the closing Spring Choir Concert...and looking and acting so much like Tim.
2. Hugging Melissa Brown and having a "Wizard of OZ" moment with her telling her that of all of Sean's girl friends, I have appreciated her the most and will miss having her around our house, and both of us bawling together.
3. Having Melissa and Adam arrive at 1:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, after driving 500 miles, just so they can stay for 56 hours to show their love and support for Sean. Watching Melissa be fiercely dedicated to her family, and feeling so grateful for her.
4. Being so proud of Sean at seminary graduation after he sang, and after Brother Jones express to me that he was certain the right decision had been made to have chosen Sean to serve as the President of Weber High's Seminary Council...and being grateful that Sean had been blessed to associate with him.
5. Watching Sean perform in the perfect cheerleader skit in front of over 2,000 students, parents and faculty and receiving a standing ovation, and hearing the laughter and cheers from his peers.
6. Watching Sean and all of the seniors linking arms and singing the school hymn, and being so happy he was standing next to Melissa Brown, and feeling a overwhelming gratitude for the blessing of living among such wonderful people, teachers, leaders and friends.
7. Meeting Carly Hirst's family and sitting behind them at baccalaureate. Being so happy that Sean has such great taste in girls, and feeling so blessed for her influence in his life.
9. Listening to Ms. Keim and Brother Pack at baccalaureate and feeling my heart about to burst open as Ms.Keim so eloquently gave advice and wished them well. And finally after all three children and after 6 years, I received the privilege to learn from her.
10. Watching Megan so thoughtfully drive to the store and buy Sean treats and then staying up until midnight pouring over the year book together...then getting up for school the next day. What a lucky boy to be sandwiched in between two loving sisters!!
My heart is so full of love and joy. My baby boy is moving to the next step in life. Where did the time go??? I love you Sean. You have truly been a precious gift.
