Today was the last day of school for us. As I looked out my family room window, I could see the peonies just about ready to bloom, and I couldn't help but think what a miracle it is that after just 3 1/2 months, the snow is gone, and the plants and world around are so brilliant and beautiful!! I love summer and I am so glad it is here. I couldn't believe it when I started counting up how many days I have taught this year. It ended up being 139 out of 180 school days. I am like the kids
and I am glad school is out too. Remember that scene in School of Rock when he is watching the clock and running past the students to leave. I have to admit, I was feeling that way yesterday, after subbing 4 times the last week of school! Even though there are things I will miss about being at school, I am glad for a break. One of Megan's guy friends asked her if I had a year book, because he wanted to sign it. He ended up writing a message to me in her yearbook, thanking me for saying "hi" to him in the halls of Weber. I had to laugh!! I always start out the summer with great resolve to get a lot done, and have a lot of fun. I do have several fun trips planned...Atlanta with Tim, Snowbird with the fam, Island Park with my sisters, and the guys on the weekend, Girls Camp & New York with Megan, so it looks like it will be a busy fun summer. I'm looking forward to my not so early exercise time in the morning (6:00 a.m. instead of 5:30 a.m.), and believe me, that 30 minutes makes a big difference!! I hope to do a lot of reading too, and of course to Megan & Sean's dismay, I have a lot of "goals" for them too. My big goal for June is to work hard on my food storage, so I am up for any suggestions you may have. But for tonight, I am relaxing and celebrating the beginning of summer!!!

Hi, Margie: I love your blog. You need to teach me how to pick prettier colors for mine one of these days. I read all your postings and I think you are awesome. I'll be reading your blog from now on especially when I need inspiration and also when I just want to keep up with what's going on in the fam :-)
139 out of 180 days, wow Margie that's a lot!! My guess is you are the best and most popular teacher at WHS. You're awesome!!
I didn't know there was an official Margie blog!!!! YAY! I'm so glad everyone seems to be getting blogs now. Even though we get to see eachother (well most of us) as often as is possible, it's nice to catch up on the every day stuff that comes in between!!!
